The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington feints and as Howard raises his hands in defense, Washington changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Washington has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Washington has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Howard is proving hard to escape from.

Washington changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Howard tries to avoid it but Washington manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Howard to the ground. Howard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
