Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikey Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brijwanth J (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brijwanth J will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Brijwanth J!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Roberts and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Powell with that takedown attempt.

Powell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. J tries to avoid it but Powell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag J to the ground. J escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Powell feints and as J raises his hands in defense, Powell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Powell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Powell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. J knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Powell has hold of J's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and J manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Powell postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! J is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Powell, into his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mikey Powell showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Powell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
