The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
white changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Alves looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
white wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Alves, who protects the arm well.
white creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Alves sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
white just content to control the position.
Alves knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for white on the ground.
white working away.
white tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no white has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
white wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Alves, who protects the arm well.
Alves is pushing white's head away, looking to escape. white manages to hold on to the position though.

white has hold of Alves's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Alves seems comfortable defending it but white has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Alves is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Alves is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but white couldn't care less - he's delighted!
