Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Albert Trotter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taisto Kurmotus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Albert Trotter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Taisto Kurmotus! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Konstantin Menshow and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kurmotus.
Kurmotus wants to land a leg kick but Trotter is out of range. Taisto Kurmotus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kurmotus throws out a loose jab but Trotter uses good head movement to avoid it. Kurmotus misses with a jab, cross combination.
A swing and a miss from Kurmotus. Trotter slips under a jab from Kurmotus. Trotter displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kurmotus throws out the jab. Kurmotus swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kurmotus misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A head kick misses from Kurmotus. Trotter darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Kurmotus pushes Trotter off looking to stand but Trotter dives back in and keeps control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trotter is trying to control the action in half guard but Kurmotus is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Kurmotus keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kurmotus wants to get back to his feet. Kurmotus wants to get back to full guard. Trotter performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Trotter is working for a kimura but Kurmotus is defending it quite comfortably.
Trotter stalling away here and it's allowed Kurmotus to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Trotter motions for Kurmotus to come forward. Trotter throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kurmotus, as that shot connected.
It looks like Albert Trotter has been cut. Trotter shoots in but Kurmotus avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kurmotus lands with an uppercut that bounces Trotter off the cage and back into rage. Kurmotus throws a big shot that misses. Kurmotus feints and then cracks Trotter's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Trotter down. Kurmotus jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kurmotus throws a looping overhand right but Trotter ducks down to avoid it. Trotter moves out of range of the leg kick from Kurmotus. Trotter staying out of range there. Kurmotus sizes up Trotter with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Kurmotus darts in and clinches Trotter up against the cage. Kurmotus manages to break the clinch.
Trotter steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kurmotus. Kurmotus is looking to clinch. Kurmotus buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Trotter avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Kurmotus fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Trotter checks it well. Kurmotus throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Kurmotus misses with a leg kick so Trotter counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Trotter trying to control but Kurmotus is working from the bottom. Trotter slips nicely into half guard. Kurmotus has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Trotter is working away from the top position though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Trotter wants to control but Kurmotus is keeping him busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Taisto Kurmotus dominated that round. The cut man is working on Albert Trotter's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Kurmotus jabbing away but nothing is landing. Trotter blocks a leg kick. Kurmotus falls off balance throwing a combination
and Trotter counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kurmotus's guard now. Trotter sitting in guard here, content to control. Trotter seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kurmotus for as long as he can get away with. Trotter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kurmotus swivels though and keeps the full guard. Trotter throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kurmotus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Trotter is controlling him. Trotter wants to control from the top but Kurmotus keeps moving. Trotter advances position into side control! Trotter trying to control the action but Kurmotus is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Trotter looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Kurmotus is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Trotter tries to score with some ground and pound. Kurmotus controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Trotter tries to move to mount but Kurmotus blocks the move with his legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kurmotus is not content to let Trotter control the position. Kurmotus wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kurmotus does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Kurmotus throws the kick towards the body but Trotter avoids it. Kurmotus misses with a low kick.
Kurmotus throws out a loose jab but Trotter uses good head movement to avoid it. Kurmotus scores with a nice body kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kurmotus thows a left - swing and a miss! Kurmotus misses with a straight left. Taisto Kurmotus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kurmotus misses with a low kick.
Kurmotus misses with an attempted mid kick.
Kurmotus is breathing heavily. Kurmotus misses with a looping left. Trotter gets the takedown into side control. Trotter controls the position from side control. Trotter trying to control the position but Kurmotus is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Albert Trotter dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Albert Trotter's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Kurmotus throws a nice looking combination but Trotter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Trotter takes a kick to the side of the head. Trotter clinches up with Kurmotus and pushes him back against the cage. Trotter breaks from the clinch.
Taisto Kurmotus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kurmotus misses with a leg kick and Trotter counters with a shoot takedown. Kurmotus fights it but they end up in guard. Trotter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Trotter trying to control the position from guard on top but Kurmotus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Trotter is pushing down on Kurmotus's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kurmotus is fighting to maintain full guard but Trotter has managed to sneak the leg through. Kurmotus takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trotter seems to be working for a kimura but Kurmotus defends the submission attempt. Trotter uses his free foot to push down on Kurmotus's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kurmotus. Trotter wants to finish this one by submission but Kurmotus is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Trotter. Trotter trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. You get the feeling that Kurmotus really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Kurmotus tries to hold on but Trotter pushes him away. Trotter goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Kurmotus is on top in guard.
Trotter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kurmotus can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Trotter working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kurmotus. Kurmotus drops back, looking for a kneebar! Trotter looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Trotter looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Trotter!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trotter trying to control the action but Kurmotus is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Trotter working the strikes but Kurmotus uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Trotter looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Kurmotus is trying to stand up here but Trotter is controlling him well. Trotter is trying to control the action in half guard but Kurmotus is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Kurmotus connects with a high kick.
Albert Trotter's cut is getting worse. Kurmotus leaves Trotter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kurmotus misses with a double jab.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Albert Trotter. I think Trotter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
