Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Anssi Kukkonen!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fuzzy Bear!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Some wild striking there from Kukkonen.
Kukkonen scores with a nice right hand.
Kukkonen misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bear.
Kukkonen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kukkonen looks to land a left hand but Bear moved out of range nicely.
Bear avoids a punch combination nicely.
A head kick misses from Bear.
Bear throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kukkonen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Anssi Kukkonen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bear uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kukkonen.
Kukkonen swings away with a body shot that misses
and Bear counters with a head kick.
Kukkonen misses with a combination
and Bear connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kukkonen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Bear slips a straight right by Kukkonen.
Bear pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bear showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kukkonen.
Bear will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Kukkonen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bear sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kukkonen throws a body punch but Bear moves out of range.
Kukkonen throws a big shot that misses.
Bear is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kukkonen.
Kukkonen misses with a body punch
and Bear counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Bear looks at the referee who does nothing so Bear lands a crushing right that sends Kukkonen to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fuzzy Bear! Fuzzy Bear retains his middleweight title!
