Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rocky Johnson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Thiago Batista! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Rocky Johnson! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Batista. Batista fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Johnson sprawls well initially but Batista persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Batista in particular looking to stall. Batista thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Batista is looking to stall here but Johnson recovers full guard. Batista wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving. Batista won't allow Johnson to get back to his feet. Batista throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Johnson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Batista won't allow Johnson to get back to his feet. Batista wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Batista moves into the clinch. Batista jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Batista around his waist. Batista gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Batista has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Johnson uses from the top position. Batista wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Batista looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Johnson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Batista is breathing heavily. Johnson trying to control but Batista is having none of it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson tries for a takedown but Batista sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Batista avoids a punch combination nicely.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt - Batista sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Johnson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Batista shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Johnson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Johnson is breathing heavily. Batista gets to his feet - Johnson follows without any prompting. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Batista jumps guard and drags Johnson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Batista seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Batista is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Batista wants to stand up but Johnson is controlling him. Batista wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Batista controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself. Johnson trying to control but Batista is working from the bottom. Batista is trying to keep Johnson in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Batista looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Batista wants to get up but he can't break Johnson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Batista from controlling successfully. Batista looking to sit in guard and control but Johnson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Batista taking a break here but Johnson is having none of it and regains half guard. Batista not landing any meaningful shots this time. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Johnson is trying to control but can't.

He lands a short punch in the meantime. Johnson wants to get back to his feet. Batista escapes and gets back to his feet. Batista avoids a punch combination nicely.
Johnson looks to land a combination but Batista avoids it well. Nice sprawl there from Batista as Johnson shoots in. Johnson fails to land with a series of punches.
Nice takedown defense from Batista. No joy for Johnson on that attempt. Rocky Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

and Batista counters by clinching up. Batista has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Johnson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Johnson goes for a takedown attempt but Batista pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Thiago Batista has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rocky Johnson. Danga de danga de dang - Johnson scores with a four punch combination! Johnson throws out a powerful jab. Johnson misses with a double jab
and Batista counters with a series of strikes. Johnson will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson lunges at Batista with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Batista's hand. Excellent takedown into side control there by Batista. Batista cracks Johnson with an elbow. That is naaassty. Batista tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson dodges the ground and pound from Batista.

Batista throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Johnson taking punishment in the form of punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Batista throwing strikes but missing, from side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
