Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Den! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sven Digram! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Den closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Den misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Digram tries to improve position but can't. Den landing a few strikes.
It looks like Sven Digram has been cut. The referee asks Den politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Den prefers to stall for the moment though. Digram regains half guard, as Den was trying to land strikes. Den working Digram over with strikes. Den thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Den working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Digram's thigh. Digram counters though and makes it back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Den wants to control from the top but Digram keeps moving. Den trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Digram throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Den pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Digram is keeping the position for now. Den lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Digram working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Den. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Digram pulls Den in to control the position. Digram trying to control the position.
Digram is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Den throws a jab but it's blocked by Digram.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Den shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Digram blocking the ground and pound attempt from Den. Den working over Digram with some ground and pound. Digram looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Digram is trying to control but can't.
Digram looks gassed! Den is trying to control the action in half guard but Digram is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Den looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Digram has hold of Den's hands but Den slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Den drops an elbow to the side of Digram's head. Den takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The fighters are battling for position here. Digram manages to regain full guard. Nice work. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Digram can do anything to dispel that myth.

Den throws and elbow that misses. Digram uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Den's guard. Nice move by Digram! Den keeping full guard, as Digram tries to pass. Digram won't allow Den to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Digram wants to pass the guard but Den is keeping the position. Digram in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Digram throws a strike but Den rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Digram being controlled here, momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Den dominated that round. The cut man is working on Sven Digram's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Den looks for a takedown but Digram sprawls well. Den tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Digram swivels and escapes. Horrible takedown by Den or perhaps it was just good defense by Digram which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Den. That's going to take a lot out of him. Digram moves out of range of the strikes. Den looks to land a left hand but Digram moved out of range nicely. Digram tries to clinch there but Den circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round. Digram closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Digram lands in his opponent's guard. Den can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Digram controls the pace. Den is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Den there. Digram won't allow Den to pass to mount. Ground and pound from Den. Digram is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Den is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Den working the head and body with strikes. Digram avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Den. Den scoring with strikes to the body and head. Digram on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Digram pushes Den off but Den dives into side control.
Den is trying to move to mount but Digram reverses beautifully and ends up in Den's guard. Den scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Den fails with the takedown and Digram counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Digram. Digram tries to break free but Den pushes him back against the cage. Digram fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Digram gets underhooks to prevent Den's takedown attempt.
Den wants to break free but Digram has control.
Digram jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Den walks away with a smile on his face. Digram gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Den shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Digram's guard. Den scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Den makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Den preventing the sweep. Digram keeping moving, preventing Den from controlling successfully. Den looking to pass the guard. Den advances to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Den dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Sven Digram's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Digram wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Den lands a nice short elbow. Den lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Digram actively working from the bottom here. Digram is not content to let Den control the position. Nice strikes from Den there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Den controlling the action here. Den working Digram over with strikes. Den scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Den trying to control from half guard but Digram is working away. Den is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Den connects with a nice short shot to Digram's temple. Digram wants to sweep but Den has passed to side control! Den working the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A control attempt from Digram but he's now mounted! Den lands a heavy elbow. Den in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Joe Den overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Den unloading with bombs! Den working the ground and pound effectively.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Den unloading with bombs! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Den lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Digram hang on? Digram regains half guard. Den passes the guard and advances to mount! Den lands a heavy elbow. Den scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Digram?
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Digram wants to control but Den is having none of it. Digram taking shots to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Joe Den showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Den, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
