Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Dempsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Dempsey will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul shoots in and bounces Dempsey off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Paul is pushing down on Dempsey's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dempsey is fighting to maintain full guard but Paul has managed to sneak the leg through.

Paul has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Paul Paul.
Paul swats away the attempt to clinch by Dempsey.
Dempsey avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Paul pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Dempsey rushes Paul and presses him up against the cage.
Paul drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dempsey pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Paul counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Paul.

Dempsey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dempsey throws a head kick but Paul moves out of range.
Dempsey moves into the clinch successfully.
Dempsey tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Paul drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dempsey gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Paul drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Paul. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Paul has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dempsey is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Paul has picked Dempsey up - he's going for a ride! Paul dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Dempsey pushes Paul off looking to stand but Paul dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Paul connects with a nice short shot to Dempsey's temple.
Paul looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Dempsey is trying to control but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Paul wants to pass to mount but Dempsey is defending the position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Paul has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Paul is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dempsey defends it well.

Dempsey wants to improve his position but Paul is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Paul manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dempsey manages to get himself to full guard.
Paul wants to control from the top but Dempsey keeps moving.
Paul stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dempsey swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Paul postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Dempsey is wriggling around but Paul manages to pass to half guard.
Paul slips a nice elbow through Dempsey's hands, connecting with Dempsey's forehead.

Paul thows a huge punch but Dempsey dodges it nicely.
Dempsey wants to stand back up but Paul manages to pass into side control.

Paul has an Americana. Dempsey didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Paul is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Paul hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Paul Paul!
