Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Arkley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has chosen Hydraulix 13.5 - D.A.V.E. the Drummer & Alex Calver as his entrance music. James Arkley could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Aaron Gracie's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Arkley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Gracie! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Gracie does no damage. Gracie scores with a nice strike. Arkley looks to score with a jab to the body but Gracie is just out of range. Arkley swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie throws a shot from downtown. Arkley moves away and avoids it. Arkley swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Arkley getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
It looks like Aaron Gracie has been cut. Arkley takes a swing at Gracie's ribcage but misses. Arkley dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Arkley has closed the distance and engaged Gracie in a clinch.
Gracie has a couple of punches blocked by Arkley.
Gracie looking to slow down the pace here. Gracie misses with a short punch on the inside. Gracie misses with a short punch on the inside. Arkley works on Gracie's body with a couple of short punches. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Arkley. Gracie looking for a takedown.

Gracie moves into range and connects with a jab. Arkley lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively. Gracie thows a left - swing and a miss! Gracie shoots for a double leg takedown but Arkley sprawls well. He's pushed Gracie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Arkley takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Gracie misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Arkley.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arkley tries to keep at a distance but Gracie has taken the fight into the clinch. Gracie misses with some punches.
A head punch on the inside from Gracie fails to land. A nice left hand lands by Gracie.
Arkley lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Gracie. Gracie misses with the head strike.
Gracie misses with a hook from the clinch. Gracie turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Gracie manages to end up in side control. Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Arkley tries to bench press Gracie off him but Gracie keeps the position. Arkley is working hard here to advance position. Arkley struggling a bit here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Arkley has escaped the position, nice work there. Arkley is trying to get back to half guard. Gracie looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Arkley sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Gracie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Arkley holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Arkley trying to control here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Gracie is trying to control the action in half guard but Arkley is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Arkley is trying to stand up here but Gracie is controlling him well. Arkley has his hands clasped together around Gracie's back. He's all about the action. Gracie is working for a kimura but Arkley is defending it quite comfortably.
Gracie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Arkley moves into full guard.

James Arkley dominated that round. The cut man is working on Aaron Gracie's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Gracie darts in trying to clinch and Gracie takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Arkley avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Arkley tries to clinch so Gracie counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Arkley is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Arkley is keeping the position for now. Arkley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground. Arkley wants to sweep here but Gracie controlling him for the moment. Arkley wants to stand but Gracie is controlling the position. Gracie advances to half guard.

Gracie lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Gracie is looking to advance position but Arkley won't allow it. Gracie wants to work for an arm triangle but Arkley is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gracie works his way into full mount! Gracie sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Arkley working to try and regain half guard.
Arkley is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action. Gracie lands a nice shot to the head. Arkley looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Gracie throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Arkley trying to control the position but Gracie manages to sink in the hooks. Gracie looking for the choke from the back. Arkley trying to control the hands but Gracie breaks the grip. Gracie is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Arkley is defending well though. Gracie let's go of the attempt for now. Gracie is breathing heavily. Gracie scores with punches to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arkley breaks Gracie's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Arkley not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Arkley wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Arkley slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of James Arkley. Arkley moves forwards but Gracie connects with a nice, crisp jab. Arkley keeps the fight on the outside. Arkley slips under a jab. Arkley throws an overhand right that lands on Gracie's shoulder, as Gracie tries to avoid the shot. Aaron Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed right hand from Gracie misses the target. Arkley ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away. Arkley is looking to wear down Gracie with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Gracie fails with a takedown attempt. Arkley wants to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aaron Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Aaron Gracie's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Arkley takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Gracie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Arkley defends it nicely. A jab from Arkley misses. Gracie loads up on a big right hand but Arkley slips the punch. Arkley misses with a body shot.

Arkley doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Arkley tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gracie scores with a sloppy right hand. Arkley should have avoided that one. Gracie thows a left - swing and a miss!
That's one minute gone in the round. Arkley drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Gracie looks to throw the jab but Arkley is out of range. Arkley slips under a jab. Gracie is looking to clinch. Arkley throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gracie sees it coming and avoids it easily. Arkley throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Arkley stuffs the takedown. Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Arkley pinned against the cage. Arkley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. James Arkley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Gracie. Arkley changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. A decent looking cross lands there for Gracie. Gracie scores with a jab to the body. Gracie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Gracie swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Arkley. Gracie ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Arkley tries to clinch up. Gracie scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Arkley wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy and won't allow it. Gracie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Gracie is pressing down on Arkley's thigh, looking to free his foot. Arkley is holding on for now. Arkley wants to improve his position but Gracie is controlling well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Arkley lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively. Arkley misses with a body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Arkley swings and misses with a shot to the body enabling Gracie to counter with a crisp jab. Gracie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Arkley, pushing him back against the cage. Gracie struggles to land a body shot inside as Arkley controls his hands.
Gracie tries to pull guard but Arkley won't allow it.
Still in the clinch, Arkley scores with a nice short uppercut. Gracie tries to work over Arkley's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. A right handed body shot lands from Arkley.
Gracie changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Arkley fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Gracie throws a right and a left that Arkley avoids nicely. Arkley with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gracie to score with a decent uppercut. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Arkley lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively. Gracie throws a hook to the side of Arkley's head but Arkley sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Gracie swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Aaron Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Gracie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
