PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rock Random (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akio Hideyoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Random might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Nas - Made you look. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akio Hideyoshi!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Random misses with a double jab.
Random shoots in looking for a takedown. Hideyoshi tries to sprawl out of it but Random keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hideyoshi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Random on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hideyoshi. Hideyoshi obviously looking to wear him down.
Hideyoshi is looking to land body kicks.
Hideyoshi lands a nice shot to the body.
Random has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Random there as he acknowledges the shot.
Hideyoshi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hideyoshi feints and then cracks Random's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Random down.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hideyoshi closes the distance and pushes Random back into the cage.
Random lands an elbow inside.
Hideyoshi tries to land a knee to the head but Random blocks with his arms.
Hideyoshi tries to land knees in the clinch but Random avoids the damage to the body.
Hideyoshi connects with a nasty looking knee right to Random's face.

Random drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hideyoshi looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hideyoshi looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hideyoshi!

Random tries to buck Hideyoshi off but Hideyoshi is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Akio Hideyoshi.
Hideyoshi misses with a low kick.
Hideyoshi looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Random throws a big shot that misses.
Hideyoshi thuds his right hand into Random's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Random misses with a few strikes there.

No joy there for Random, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hideyoshi throws a body kick that misses.
Hideyoshi throws a quick inside leg kick.
Hideyoshi throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Hideyoshi scores with a push kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hideyoshi feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Random sprawling to the canvas! Random rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Hideyoshi finish him?!

Hideyoshi looks for the body kick but Random saw that one coming.
Random walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Random throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hideyoshi.
A punch lands to the side of Random 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Hideyoshi tries a head kick but it misses.

Hideyoshi lands a big uppercut and Random crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Random looks OK. Hideyoshi waves Random back to his feet!

Random is rocked!
Akio Hideyoshi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hideyoshi feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Random crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
