The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blood closes the distance and pushes Hendricks back into the cage.

Blood shoots in for a takedown but Hendricks shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Blood shoots for a double leg takedown but Hendricks sprawls well. He's pushed Blood's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Hendricks counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Hendricks counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Johnny Blood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Oooh a lovely combination from Hendricks sends Blood down but not out. Hendricks dives into side control looking to finish.
