The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Howard tries for a takedown but SILVA sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
SILVA avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Howard looks for a takedown but SILVA sprawls well.
SILVA moves in looking to clinch but Howard pushes him off.

ANDERSON SILVA seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Howard lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Howard cracks SILVA with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! SILVA looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Howard finish him?
It looks like ANDERSON SILVA has been cut.

SILVA is trying desperately to land a takedown but Howard is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for SILVA.

Howard connects with a nice cross there... SILVA is looking wobbly and Howard recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send SILVA to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Howard jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
