Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Chida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chida takes the fight into the clinch.
Maeda stops a takedown attempt from Chida.

Maeda manages to pull guard.
Chida trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Maeda manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Maeda throwing strikes but missing.
Chida wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Maeda is now in half guard.
Chida tries to get to full guard but Maeda has control of the leg.

Chida really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maeda. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Maeda wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chida keeps working.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Maeda fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Chida avoids it really well and circles away.

Chida keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chida wants to improve his position but Maeda is controlling well.
Maeda is trying to control the action in half guard but Chida is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Maeda is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Chida is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chida can do anything to dispel that myth.
Chida wants to improve his position but Maeda is controlling well.
Chida looks gassed!
Chida has hold of Maeda's hands but Maeda slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Chida tries to score a power double leg takedown but Maeda sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Chida somewhat.
Thiago Chida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maeda tries to clinch up but Chida circles away and keeps his distance.
Maeda could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Maeda has his takedown stuffed

and Chida counters with a takedown into side control.
Maeda might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Maeda gets back to half guard.
Chida seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Maeda does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Chida thows an elbow strike that misses. Maeda gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Chida doesn't seem too bothered but Maeda quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Chida is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Chida really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.
