Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmie Jameson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ken Crawford! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crawford shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jameson napping and manages to drive through into side control! Jameson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Crawford lands some shots froms side control. Jameson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Crawford is controlling him well. Jameson taking a bit of punishment here - Crawford scoring with strikes. Crawford prevents Jameson from escaping the position. Crawford scores with punches from side control. Crawford scoring with punches from side control. Jameson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Crawford cracks Jameson with a big elbow. Jameson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Crawford is controlling him well. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Jameson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Jameson is pushing Crawford's head away, looking to escape. Crawford manages to hold on to the position though. Crawford has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Crawford scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jameson to see if he's OK. Jameson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Jameson is breathing heavily. Crawford tries for a kimura but Jameson is defending well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jameson wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crawford grinds an elbow into Jameson's temple. Crawford works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Jameson on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Crawford in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Jameson is rocked! Crawford working the ground and pound. Oh Jameson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crawford scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Jameson is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Crawford can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ken Crawford!
