The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Novikov forces Sphinx back against the cage and clinches.
Sphinx changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Novikov fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Sphinx throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Sphinx shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Novikov as he avoids it easily.
Novikov lands a two punch combo.

Novikov drops Sphinx with a beautiful combination! Sphinx stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Novikov is looking for the KO!

It looks like Taylor Sphinx has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Novikov rushes Sphinx with punches - Sphinx moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Sphinx goes down! Novikov follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
