The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balsito tries a head kick but it misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson.
Johnson scores a takedown into full mount!
Johnson working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Johnson has control of Balsito's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Balsito regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Balsito wants to hold on but Johnson pushes him away.

Balsito really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Johnson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Balsito manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Johnson has Balsito in his guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Johnson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown. Balsito fights it but they end up in guard.
Johnson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Balsito manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Balsito gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

so Johnson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

and Johnson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Balsito!
Balsito sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Johnson is looking for a kimura but Balsito is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Johnson to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Balsito wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy.
Balsito has one foot on Johnson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

and Johnson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Johnson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Balsito is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Balsito has escaped and now he's on top!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Johnson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
