Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kim Jong Il (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Hawkes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jong Il kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lights by Interpol. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonathan Hawkes!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jong Il fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hawkes avoids it really well and circles away.
Jong Il lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Jong Il.
It looks like Jonathan Hawkes has been cut.
Jong Il fails to land the takedown.
Hawkes moves into the clinch.
Hawkes swings wildly with an uppercut but Jong Il uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hawkes gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Jong Il tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kim Jong Il. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jong Il throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hawkes's waist but Hawkes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jong Il off to one side.

Hawkes throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hawkes lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jong Il at a distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jong Il shoots for a takedown but Hawkes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jong Il is breathing heavily.
Jong Il moves out of range of the body kick from Hawkes.
Jong Il shoots for a double leg takedown but Hawkes sprawls well. He's pushed Jong Il's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hawkes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hawkes moves into the clinch.
Jong Il takes a knee right on the jaw!
Hawkes lands an elbow just above Jong Il 's eye.
Hawkes connects with a nasty looking knee right to Jong Il's face.
Hawkes creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Jong Il's defenses.
Hawkes lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Hawkes tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Hawkes scores with a shoulder strike.

Hawkes lands a nice knee to the body.
Hawkes gets through Jong Il's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Hawkes landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Jong Il really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hawkes lands a hook that snaps the head of Jong Il backwards.
Hawkes breaks from the clinch.
Jonathan Hawkes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jong Il tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Hawkes explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Jong Il takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hawkes cracks Jong Il with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Jong Il falls to his knees and Hawkes doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jonathan Hawkes!
