Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carson Cools (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Peter Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carson Cools! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Jackson wants to stand and escape but instead Cools has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cools has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jackson is proving hard to escape from. Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cools is one step ahead there. Cools trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Jackson keeping moving, preventing Cools from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jackson punching from the bottom - just letting Cools know he's still in a fight. Jackson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Jackson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Cools regains half guard. Jackson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Jackson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cools defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson is trying to control. Cools wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Cools trying to control here.
Cools moves into full guard.
Cools can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jackson controls the pace. Jackson looking to pass the guard. Jackson is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cools is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Cools keeping full guard, as Jackson tries to pass. Cools doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Jackson is stalling in the full guard. Jackson has gone for a leg lock! Cools slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jackson's guard. Cools must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jackson is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Cools trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom. Jackson looking for a sweep. Not yet Jackson, not yet. Cools chips away with some ground and pound. Jackson controls Cools momentarily but Cools frees himself. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jackson looking for a sweep. Not yet Jackson, not yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cools fails with the takedown and Jackson counters with a three punch combo that has Cools backing up. Cools nods at Jackson to acknowledge the strikes. Jackson shoots in and bounces Cools off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Jackson has gone for a leg lock! Cools slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jackson's guard. Cools decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jackson, up you get! Cools rushes Jackson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jackson is stalling here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Jackson takes a knee to the side of the body. Jackson successfully pulls guard.
Jackson wants to sweep here but Cools controlling him for the moment. Cools looking to sit in guard and control but Jackson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Cools keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Jackson looking to pass the guard. Cools is trying to control the position but Jackson postures up. Cools is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jackson is stalling in the full guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jackson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cools takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Jackson controls the position. Cools is not content to let Jackson control the position. Jackson tries to move into full mount but can't pass Cools's legs. Cools can't do much from the bottom here. Jackson controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jackson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cools knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Jackson decides to stand back up. Cools misses with a takedown and Jackson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cools's guard now. Peter Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carson Cools. Cools wants to sweep here but Jackson controlling him for the moment. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cools tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Jackson counters with a nice kick to the body. Cools tries for a takedown but Jackson circles away easily and Jackson counters with a left to the body. Jackson with a poor takedown and Cools counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Jackson throws a sloppy body shot
and Cools counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Jackson regains full guard. Nicely done. Jackson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cools defends well. Jackson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cools is aware though and is defending well. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cools can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Cools working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Cools tries to stand but Jackson is controlling from the bottom. Cools won't allow Jackson to get back to his feet. Jackson is trying to control the position but Cools postures up. Jackson wants to sweep but no luck.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jackson swats away the attempt to clinch by Cools. Jackson feints and as Cools raises his hands in defense, Jackson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Cools looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jackson is pushing down on Cools's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cools is fighting to maintain full guard but Jackson has managed to sneak the leg through. Cools tries to roll over but Jackson keeps him under control. Jackson is looking for a kimura but Cools is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jackson to get the leverage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jackson in particular looking to stall. Jackson moves into full mount! Cools won't be happy about that! Peter Jackson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jackson tries to control but Cools wriggling away. Cools is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Cools tries to reverse the position but Jackson maintains control. Jackson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cools is now in Jackson's guard. A big mistake from Jackson there, giving up the dominant position!

Peter Jackson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Cools in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Peter Jackson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jackson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
