Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Mclovin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kent Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mclovin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sandstorm by Darude. Kent Powell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kent Powell! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Powell rushes Mclovin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Powell is trying to break free. Powell wants to break free but Mclovin has control.

Powell wants to get back to striking at distance but Mclovin won't allow it.
Mclovin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kent Powell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice defenses there by Mclovin. Mclovin throws a nice looking combination but Powell bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mclovin misses with a double jab.
A big right from Powell misses. Mclovin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Powell pinned against the cage. Powell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mclovin.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mclovin moves into range and clinches up with Powell. Powell has Mclovin pushed against the cage. Powell wants a takedown.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fedor Mclovin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Powell works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Powell trying to control the position from guard on top but Mclovin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Powell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mclovin works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Powell in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Powell throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Mclovin keeping moving, preventing Powell from controlling successfully. Powell prevents Mclovin from getting back to his feet. Powell with a flurry of punches that miss. Powell trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Powell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Powell wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Powell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. A nice elbow there by Powell. Powell throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Mclovin because Powell loaded up on that one. Powell thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Powell throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Powell throwing strikes here but Mclovin is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Mclovin takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Powell throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Mclovin tries to hold on but Powell pushes him away. Powell working away from the top, dropping strikes. Mclovin holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Powell tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mclovin blocking the ground and pound. Powell wants to control the pace but Mclovin is squirming around nicely. Powell throws some wild stikes that Mclovin manages to avoid easily.
Poor strikes thrown by Powell there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Powell tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Mclovin blocking the ground and pound. Mclovin working to try and regain half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kent Powell dominated that round. That's time! Mclovin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Powell tries to clinch but Mclovin moves out of range. Mclovin scores with a nice strike. Mclovin misses with a kick to the body.
Powell throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Powell tries to clinch and Powell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Powell shoots and misses and Mclovin counters with a left and a right that stings Powell. Mclovin throws a series of punches but Powell moves out of range. Mclovin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Mclovin counters by clinching up. Powell displaying some good clinch control by pressing Mclovin up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powell is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Mclovin tries to circle away but Powell has him pinned against the cage. Powell gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mclovin pushes Powell off looking to stand but Powell dives back in and keeps control.
Powell lands strikes from half guard. Mclovin manages to escape and get back to his feet! Mclovin wants to clinch and Powell counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mclovin's guard now. Mclovin keeping moving, preventing Powell from controlling successfully. Powell is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Mclovin has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Powell off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Powell darts in trying to clinch and Mclovin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Mclovin tries to clinch but Powell moves out of range. Fedor Mclovin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Powell throws a big shot that misses. Mclovin is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Powell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mclovin was well out of range. Poor timing from Powell. A slow jab from Mclovin misses its intended target. Mclovin throws a leg kick which misses Powell's front leg but catches the back leg as Powell tries to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Mclovin's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Mclovin duly obliges. Powell misses with a hook. Powell wants to clinch but Mclovin slips to the side letting Mclovin counter with a right hand. Powell dodges the punch combination from Mclovin.
Powell tries to clinch letting Mclovin counter with a right hand. Mclovin circles away from the clinch attempt and Mclovin counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mclovin. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mclovin looking to pass the guard. Mclovin tries to stand but Powell is controlling from the bottom. Powell is pulling down on Mclovin's head. It's preventing any offense from Mclovin, at least for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fedor Mclovin dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
A big left from Powell misses. Powell misses with a takedown attempt and Mclovin counters with a flying knee. Nice. Powell drives through with a takedown into guard. Mclovin is trying to control the position but Powell postures up. Mclovin keeping moving, preventing Powell from controlling successfully. Powell not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Mclovin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Powell shoots and misses and Mclovin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Powell takes a swing at Mclovin's ribcage but misses. Powell throws a hook to the side of Mclovin's head but Mclovin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Powell clinches but Mclovin breaks the clinch and Mclovin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Mclovin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Powell manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mclovin has Powell in his guard. Kent Powell has got the better of the ground game so far. Powell trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Powell working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Powell wants to pass the guard but Mclovin is keeping the position. Powell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mclovin wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Powell stands and throws Mclovin's legs to the side, diving into side control. Powell tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Powell throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Mclovin works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Mclovin is looking to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Powell trying to control the action but Mclovin is working from the bottom. Powell winds up and cracks Mclovin with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Powell lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Mclovin blocking the ground and pound attempt from Powell. Powell thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Powell missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Powell lands a nice short elbow. Powell sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Mclovin defending well though.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Kent Powell. I think Powell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
