Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kaz Shiroma!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie tries to clinch there but Shiroma circles away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Shiroma misses with a series of wild punches.
Gracie throws a nice looking combination but Shiroma bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nice takedown defense from Shiroma. No joy for Gracie on that attempt.

Shiroma's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Shiroma duly obliges.
It looks like Roycio Gracie has been cut.
A solid leg kick lands there for Shiroma.
Roycio Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Some wild striking there from Shiroma.
Shiroma tries to bum rush Gracie with a series of wild strikes but Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gracie on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shiroma tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shiroma to the ground. Shiroma escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roycio Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie moves into the clinch.
Shiroma pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Shiroma drops Gracie with a beautiful combination! Gracie stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Shiroma is looking for the KO!

Gracie is breathing heavily.
Shiroma stuffs the takedown.
Shiroma throws a head kick that misses.
Shiroma flashes Gracie a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Gracie's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Gracie crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Shiroma punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kaz Shiroma!
