Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Knocker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Rudd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rudd is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bob Marley - Get Up Stand Up. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tommy Knocker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Rudd! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rudd checks a low kick from Knocker. Rudd misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rudd shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Knocker as he avoids it easily. Knocker fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Rudd checks it well. Knocker swats away the attempt to clinch by Rudd. Knocker misses with a head kick.

Rudd swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rudd throws a right and a left that both miss. Knocker throws a big shot that misses. Rudd attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. A big head kick from Knocker and Rudd is sent sprawling to the canvas! Knocker postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rudd is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Knocker, into his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rudd throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rudd trying to control but Knocker is working from the bottom. Knocker is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Rudd would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Rudd must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Rudd stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Some wild striking there from Rudd.
Knocker scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Knocker tries a head kick but it misses.
Rudd decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Knocker wants to get back to full guard. Knocker keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Knocker actively working from the bottom here. Rudd wants to stand up but Knocker is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rudd is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rudd misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Rudd ducks under a wild hook from Knocker. Rudd throws a right hand that Knocker ducks under and follows up with a left that Knocker also avoids with ease. Rudd looks to land a combination but Knocker avoids it well. Rudd finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Knocker swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rudd. Knocker catches Rudd with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! A combination from Rudd does no damage. Rudd throws a nice looking combination but Knocker bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Knocker tries to close the distance and clinch but Rudd swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Knocker pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Knocker throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Rudd shoots for a takedown but Knocker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Tommy Knocker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Rudd. Rudd works over Knocker's head and body with a nice combination. Knocker gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Knocker putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Rudd in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Knocker lands a knee to the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nice elbow from Knocker. Knocker pushes off an throws an elbow but Rudd leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Knocker lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Rudd drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Knocker struggling a bit here. Knocker tries to improve position but can't. Rudd decides to stand back up. Rudd steps back and let's Knocker get back to his feet. Knocker takes one to the side of the head.
Rudd finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rudd throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Knocker. Tommy Knocker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rudd ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Knocker misses with an uppercut. Rudd gets in close and instigates a clinch. Rudd has had enough of the clinch but Knocker keeps him there for the moment. Knocker lands a knee to the body.

Rudd's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rudd closes the distance and lands a one-two. Rudd throws a one two combo.
It looks like Tommy Knocker has been cut. Knocker misses with a few strikes there.
Rudd throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Rudd misses with a few strikes there.
Rudd closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rudd lands in his opponent's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Rudd trying to control the position from guard on top but Knocker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knocker looking for a sweep. Not yet Knocker, not yet. Rudd pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Knocker is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Rudd trying to stand up but can't free himself from Knocker's guard. Knocker wants to improve his position but instead Rudd has moved into half guard.
Rudd is taking a breather. Knocker says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Knocker walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Rudd checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Rudd showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Tommy Knocker's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Rudd drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Rudd controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Knocker looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. He's pushed Rudd off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Rudd screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
