Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Buket Levkoev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Paul Waul!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Levkoev moves into range and clinches up with Waul.
Levkoev misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Waul.
Levkoev stops a takedown attempt from Waul.
Waul is trying to break free.
Levkoev wants to stall.

Levkoev jumps into guard, dragging Waul to the mat.
Waul preventing the sweep.
Waul would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Waul looking to pass the guard.

Waul postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Levkoev is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Waul, into his guard.

Levkoev knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Waul on the ground.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Waul is on top in guard.

Waul prevents Levkoev from getting back to his feet.
Levkoev trying to keep a closed guard but Waul is proving a slippery customer.
Levkoev bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Waul's guard.
Waul is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Levkoev thows a big elbow that misses.

Waul has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Levkoev can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Waul keeping moving, preventing Levkoev from controlling successfully.

Waul looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Levkoev wants to control from the top but Waul keeps moving.
Waul manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Levkoev manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Waul tries to pass the half guard into mount. Levkoev knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Waul works his way into full mount!

Waul goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Levkoev turns into him and now he's in Waul's guard.

Levkoev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Waul swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Levkoev is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Waul is on top in guard.

Waul is looking to advance position but Levkoev has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Waul wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Levkoev.
Levkoev prevents Waul from getting the reversal.

Waul tries to reverse the position but Levkoev maintains control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Waul is squirming around, avoiding Levkoev's attempts to control the action.
Levkoev thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Levkoev looking to ground and pound but Waul is blocking nicely.
Waul working to try and regain half guard.
Waul bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Levkoev is trying to control the position but Waul postures up.
Waul tries to free his leg and advance position but Levkoev is retaining full guard.
Waul stands and throws Levkoev's legs to the side, diving into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Paul Waul will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Levkoev scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Levkoev in particular looking to stall.
Waul is staying active underneath Levkoev, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Levkoev looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Waul avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Levkoev.
Waul slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Waul preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Waul throws his legs up looking for a submission but Levkoev uses it to pass to side control.

Levkoev stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Waul stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Levkoev.
Waul is breathing heavily.
Waul dodges the punch combination from Levkoev.

Levkoev looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Waul is looking to sweep but instead, Levkoev has passed into half guard.
Levkoev missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Waul manages to get to full guard.
Waul wants to sweep here but Levkoev controlling him for the moment.
Levkoev trying to control but Waul is working from the bottom.

Waul has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Levkoev doesn't defend quickly enough and Waul has managed to lock this one up! Can Levkoev escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Waul on a fantastic submission victory.
