PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dieter Berger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Kozak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Berger's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Feed The Gut. The crowd seem to be enjoying Kozak's choice of entrance music: The Man Without Fear-Rob Zombie. Fedor Kozak will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dieter Berger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fedor Kozak!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berger showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kozak.
No joy there for Kozak, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A combination from Kozak does no damage.

Berger shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Berger is looking for a kimura but Kozak is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Berger to get the leverage.
Berger looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Well, if Berger is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Berger is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Berger thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kozak's head.

Berger frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Berger sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Kozak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Berger. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Berger has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Kozak's body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Berger is riding his opponent, not letting Kozak buck him off.
Berger's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Kozak is covering up but some of the strikes from Berger are getting through and doing damage.
Berger is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Berger is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Kozak knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Kozak for a finish.
Berger slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.



Kozak gets caught flat footed, as Berger shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dieter Berger.

Kozak gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Berger is stalling in the full guard.
Berger throws a big right hand that misses.
Kozak is breathing heavily.
Berger is in close to Kozak's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Berger trying to control but Kozak is working from the bottom.
Berger seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Dieter Berger overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Berger slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Berger wants to control but Kozak is keeping him busy.
Kozak takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Berger has hold of Kozak's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kozak seems comfortable defending it but Berger has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kozak is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kozak is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Berger couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Dieter Berger!
