PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jammpa Tuominen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiroki Katsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Katsu drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

You get the feeling that Tuominen really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Tuominen has his foot on Katsu's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Katsu works his way back into a safe position though.

Hiroki Katsu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Katsu closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Katsu won't allow Tuominen to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Katsu counters with a single leg into guard. Tuominen didn't expect that.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tuominen is on top in guard.
Katsu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tuominen manages to get himself to full guard.

Katsu gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Katsu scores with a one two! Tuominen had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Katsu shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Tuominen is on queer street and Katsu is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
