Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Best Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cisco Malcitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Best Fighter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cisco Malcitch!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Steve Montenegro and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fighter shoots in and drives through. Malcitch sprawls well.
Fighter closes this distance looking for a takedown but Malcitch circles away.
Malcitch moves into range and connects with a jab.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Fighter prevents Malcitch from breaking the clinch.
Malcitch can't break the clinch.
Fighter changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Malcitch fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Best Fighter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fighter forces Malcitch back against the cage and clinches.
Malcitch has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Fighter jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Malcitch walks away with a smile on his face. Fighter gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Cisco Malcitch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fighter clinches up against the cage.
Fighter has Malcitch pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Malcitch manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Fighter tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Malcitch just stands there and leans against the cage.
Malcitch wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Fighter tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Malcitch smiles and moves away.
Fighter shoots in and drives through. Malcitch sprawls well.

Malcitch fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Fighter looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Fighter has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Fighter there as he acknowledges the shot.


It looks like Best Fighter has been cut.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Fighter.
Malcitch pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Malcitch digs a good body shot into Fighter's ribs.
Fighter is breathing heavily.

Malcitch lands a big right hand that sends Fighter crashing to the mat! Malcitch stays standing though and waves Fighter back to his feet!


Fighter is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Malcitch fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Oh Fighter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Malcitch moves into range and clinches up with Fighter.
Malcitch wants to get back to striking at distance but Fighter won't allow it.
Malcitch is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Fighter seems to have got his legs back now.
Fighter blocks an uppercut.
Malcitch prevents Fighter from breaking the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Malcitch's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Malcitch looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Malcitch tries to break the clinch but Fighter is controlling the position.
Fighter tries to pull guard but Malcitch won't allow it.

Fighter shoots for a double leg takedown but Malcitch sprawls well. He's pushed Fighter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Fighter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Fighter might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Malcitch utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fighter slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Fighter trying to control the action but Malcitch is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Fighter shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Malcitch sprawls well. Malcitch wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fighter gets slowly back to his feet.

Fighter gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Malcitch wants to get back to striking at distance but Fighter won't allow it.

Malcitch swats away the attempt to clinch by Fighter.
Malcitch clobbers Fighter with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Malcitch defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fighter.

Malcitch tries to score with a low kick but Fighter moves his leg out of the way.

Fighter clinches with his opponent.
Fighter tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Fighter has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Malcitch is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Fighter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Malcitch throws a head kick but Fighter moves out of range.
Fighter dodges the punch combination from Malcitch.
Cisco Malcitch is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Malcitch has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Fighter slows down the pace here.
Fighter has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Malcitch is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

That's time! Fighter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Fighter feints and as Malcitch raises his hands in defense, Fighter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fighter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Malcitch keeping moving, preventing Fighter from controlling successfully.
Malcitch really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fighter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Malcitch takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fighter advances to half guard.
Fighter is looking to take a break and control but Malcitch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Fighter. Malcitch shrugs it off though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fighter fails to land the takedown.
Malcitch is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fighter scores with a kick to the body.

Fighter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Fighter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Malcitch knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Fighter in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Malcitch taking punishment in the form of punches.
Fighter misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Fighter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fighter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Best Fighter showed his dominance in that final round.
