Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Gangsta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pablo Gangsta has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eddie Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pablo Gangsta!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gangsta slaps away a takedown attempt from Alvarez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gangsta misses with a hook. Alvarez ducked under it nicely.
Gangsta moves in looking to clinch but Alvarez pushes him off.
Alvarez fails to land the takedown.
Gangsta is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Alvarez swats away the attempt to clinch by Gangsta.
Alvarez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gangsta throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Alvarez was covering up waiting for the punch and Gangsta finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Gangsta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alvarez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gangsta accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Alvarez looking for a guillotine here but Gangsta defends easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gangsta postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gangsta misses with an attempted mid kick.
A head kick misses from Gangsta.
Gangsta throws a head kick but Alvarez moves out of range.

Gangsta wants to clinch up but Alvarez keeps it at a distance.
Gangsta throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Gangsta tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Alvarez is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Gangsta.

Gangsta closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Alvarez is breathing heavily.
Gangsta landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Gangsta tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Alvarez just stands there and leans against the cage.

Gangsta pulls guard successfully.
Gangsta has his hands on Alvarez's head, controlling the position.

Alvarez throws a strike but Gangsta rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Gangsta throws a half hearted mid kick.
Alvarez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gangsta counters with a good, hard body kick but Alvarez shrugs it off.
Gangsta swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gangsta lands with a kick to the temple. Alvarez shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Alvarez gets caught flat footed, as Gangsta shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Alvarez wants to sweep here but Gangsta controlling him for the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gangsta accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Alvarez tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gangsta loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Gangsta wants to control from the top but Alvarez keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Eddie Alvarez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Alvarez throws a looping overhand right but Gangsta ducks down to avoid it.
Alvarez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gangsta counters with a big head kick but Alvarez shrugs it off.

Gangsta fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Alvarez, pushing him back against the cage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gangsta breaks from the clinch.
Gangsta throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gangsta throws a head kick that Alvarez semi-blocks.
Gangsta goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Alvarez takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Alvarez shoots and misses
and Gangsta counters with a solid body kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Alvarez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gangsta tries to close the distance and clinch but Alvarez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Alvarez avoids the head kick by Gangsta.
Alvarez with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gangsta to score with a decent uppercut.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gangsta.

Gangsta throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Alvarez works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Alvarez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gangsta is working away from the top position though.

Gangsta shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Alvarez slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gangsta postures up in Alvarez's guard and throws a big left but Alvarez blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pablo Gangsta showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Gangsta shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Alvarez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Gangsta must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Alvarez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gangsta darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Pablo Gangsta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gangsta tries to clinch up but Alvarez circles away and keeps his distance.

and Gangsta counters with a nice double leg into side control. Alvarez won't be happy with that.

Gangsta looks up at the clock and then as Alvarez takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Gangsta smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alvarez takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Eddie Alvarez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Alvarez tries to bench press Gangsta off him but Gangsta keeps the position.
Gangsta working the strikes but Alvarez uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Alvarez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gangsta tries to pass the half guard into mount. Alvarez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Alvarez is pressing down on Gangsta's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Gangsta throws and elbow that misses. Alvarez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gangsta's guard. Nice move by Alvarez!

Pablo Gangsta comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gangsta has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
