Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shom Harnick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glenn Swiftwater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swiftwater is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by NEON. Glenn Swiftwater is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shom Harnick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Glenn Swiftwater! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harnick throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Harnick throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Harnick chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Swiftwater drops his hands momentarily and Harnick takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Swiftwater slips under a jab from Harnick. Harnick gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Harnick is trying to break free. Harnick is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Harnick breaks from the clinch.
An inside leg kick from Harnick misses. Swiftwater throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Harnick was covering up waiting for the punch and Swiftwater finishes the takedown easily into guard. Swiftwater stops Harnick from standing up. Swiftwater with a nice head shot there. Harnick wants to stand and escape but Swiftwater is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swiftwater postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Swiftwater sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Harnick's guard. Harnick is trying to stand.
Swiftwater seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Harnick wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Swiftwater stalling. Swiftwater is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Harnick defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Swiftwater trying to control the action but Harnick is working from the bottom. Harnick is looking to escape. Harnick wants to improve his position but Swiftwater is controlling well.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Harnick tries a head kick but it misses.
Swiftwater scores with a jab. Harnick acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Harnick. No joy for Swiftwater on that attempt. Swiftwater showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Harnick.
Swiftwater takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Harnick doesn't succeed with the takedown and Swiftwater counters with a nice double leg into guard. Swiftwater wants to pass the guard but Harnick is keeping the position. Swiftwater wants to control from the top but Harnick keeps moving. Swiftwater not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Swiftwater passes into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Swiftwater trying to control from half guard but Harnick is working away. Harnick has his hands clasped together around Swiftwater's back. He's all about the action. Harnick regains full guard. Nicely done. Harnick is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Swiftwater is controlling him. Swiftwater preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Glenn Swiftwater dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Harnick throws a front kick that sends Swiftwater stumbling back into the cage. Swiftwater gets the takedown into side control. Swiftwater lands a nice forearm strike. Harnick wants to get back to his feet but Swiftwater drags him back down. A lull in the action here. Swiftwater has hold of Harnick's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Harnick tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Swiftwater cranks the arm and Harnick screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Harnick, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Glenn Swiftwater!
