Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Heartman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Money McMillion!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heartman shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Heartman is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
McMillion is trying to stand.
Heartman is keen to just control but McMillion is a slippery customer.
McMillion is trying to stand.
Heartman slows the pace down in half guard.
McMillion wants to improve his position but Heartman is controlling well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
McMillion tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

McMillion pushes Heartman away with a front kick.
McMillion doesn't manage to clinch there - Heartman circles away.
A head kick misses from McMillion.
McMillion has his takedown stuffed

and Heartman counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Heartman throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Heartman wants to pass the guard but McMillion is keeping the position.

Heartman drops back looking for a leg! McMillion is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McMillion manages to kick Heartman off! Heartman jumps back into McMillion's guard.
Heartman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McMillion's guard.
Heartman has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Heartman jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… McMillion is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by McMillion and Heartman has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Heartman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McMillion knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
McMillion is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Heartman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Heartman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Heartman is looking to take a break and control but McMillion is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

You can see the frustration on McMillion's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Heartman looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
McMillion manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
McMillion prevents Heartman from improving his position.

Heartman looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Heartman is breathing heavily.
McMillion is thwarting Heartman's attempts to control the position.
McMillion is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Heartman is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but McMillion pulls his head out easily.

McMillion stands up out of the half guard.
McMillion wants to clinch

so Heartman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McMillion manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Heartman tries to reverse the position but McMillion maintains control.
Heartman tries to control McMillion's body but McMillion pushes him off. Heartman squirms to his side and now McMillion has his back!
McMillion is riding his opponent, not letting Heartman buck him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Heartman dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


McMillion fails with the takedown

and Heartman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McMillion's guard.
McMillion is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Heartman advances position into side control!
McMillion struggling a bit here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Heartman trying to control the action but McMillion is working from the bottom.
McMillion sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Heartman is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Heartman is looking for a kimura but McMillion is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Heartman to get the leverage.

McMillion wants to get back to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McMillion wants to get back to his feet.
McMillion is staying active underneath Heartman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
McMillion is trying to stand up here but Heartman is controlling him well.
Heartman trying to control the action but McMillion is working from the bottom.

and McMillion counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

McMillion is sitting in close to Heartman's body. Heartman has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! McMillion is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, McMillion is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Heartman.
