The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddell misses with a hook. Lupaus ducked under it nicely.
Liddell lands with a right hand.
Lupaus avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lupaus looks to land a combination but Liddell avoids it well.
Lupaus scores with a hook to the body. Liddell takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Lupaus closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Dan Liddell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Liddell counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Liddell takes the fight into the clinch.
Lupaus breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Liddell throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Liddell fails in his attempt to clinch.
Liddell throws a looping overhand right but Lupaus ducks down to avoid it.

Liddell connects with a looping right hand.
Liddell lands a head kick. Lupaus smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Liddell thuds a left hand into Lupaus's body.
Lupaus has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Liddell finds it's way round the side to connect with Lupaus's head.

and Liddell counters with a straight right hand.

Lupaus is breathing heavily.
Whack! Liddell lands a heavy head kick that drops Lupaus. The ref tackles Liddell to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Lupaus was done.
