0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takashi Oshima! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schwartz fails with a takedown attempt. Schwartz forces Oshima back against the cage and clinches. Schwartz tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Oshima just stands there and leans against the cage. Schwartz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Oshima throws a lazy right hand but Schwartz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Oshima stuffs the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Danga de danga de dang - Schwartz scores with a four punch combination! Schwartz shoots in but Oshima avoids the takedown attempt easily. Oshima tries to clinch but Schwartz moves away and Schwartz holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Oshima stops a takedown attempt from Schwartz.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oshima jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Schwartz walks away with a smile on his face. Oshima gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Oshima closes the distance but Schwartz moves to the side and Schwartz counters with a nice uppercut. Oshima closes the distance but Schwartz moves to the side and Schwartz counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Oshima is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Schwartz defends well. Schwartz is looking to work some ground and pound but Oshima has wrist control. Schwartz wants to pass the guard but Oshima is keeping the position. Oshima scrambles and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A left and a right from Schwartz both land. Nice combination. Schwartz forces Oshima back against the cage and clinches. Schwartz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Oshima walks away with a smile on his face. Schwartz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. The fight moves into the clinch position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Oshima turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Schwartz throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Schwartz avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Oshima. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schwartz regains half guard. Oshima prevents Schwartz from improving his position. Schwartz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Oshima's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Oshima's back! Schwartz scores with punches from the back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oshima is taking damage to the body and head. Oshima prevents Schwartz from getting a body triangle. Oshima is really stuck here.
Schwartz lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Schwartz trying to control momentarily.

Oshima preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Schwartz. Oshima is trying to escape under a series of strikes and manages to escape from Schwartz 's hooks. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Oshima slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rob Schwartz dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Schwartz cracks Oshima with a good jab. Schwartz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Oshima throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Oshima tries to clinch but Schwartz moves away and Schwartz counters with a nice leg kick. Oshima tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schwartz paws at him with a jab and circles away. Schwartz lands with a straight right. Oshima didn't see that one coming. Oshima looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Schwartz is fending him off so far but Oshima persists. Nope, Schwartz circles away and we're back to standing. Schwartz scoring well with a low kick there.

Oshima on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Schwartz has his takedown stuffed and Oshima counters by clinching up. Oshima gets underhooks to prevent Schwartz's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rob Schwartz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Oshima has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Schwartz is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Schwartz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Oshima keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Schwartz's efforts to push away. Schwartz displaying some good clinch control by pressing Oshima up against the cage. Oshima struggles to land a body shot inside as Schwartz controls his hands.
Schwartz lands a hook that snaps the head of Oshima backwards. Oshima tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Schwartz avoids it. Oshima tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
A frustrated look appears on Schwartz's face as he tries to break the clinch. Schwartz has had enough of the clinch but Oshima keeps him there for the moment. Schwartz wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Schwartz would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Schwartz is looking to work some ground and pound but Oshima has wrist control. Schwartz postures up in Oshima's guard and throws a big left but Oshima blocks it. Oshima looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Oshima is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Schwartz attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Schwartz moves in looking to clinch but Oshima pushes him off. Oshima tries to close the distance and clinch up but Schwartz swats him away and circles back towards the center. Oshima fails in his attempt to clinch. Schwartz pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Schwartz lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Schwartz displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Oshima closes the distance and clinches. Schwartz has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. With the fighters up against the cage, Schwartz throws an elbow but misses. Schwartz lands a right hand. Schwartz pulls guard successfully.
Schwartz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Schwartz lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Oshima! Schwartz avoids the attempt from Oshima to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schwartz with a couple of short strikes. Schwartz with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Oshima tries to hold on but Schwartz postures up. Oshima wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Schwartz.
Oshima is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rob Schwartz dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Oshima is fighting to maintain full guard but Schwartz has managed to sneak the leg through. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schwartz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Oshima as he jumps to the side. Schwartz misses with a takedown and Oshima moves into the clinch. Oshima is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Schwartz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Oshima thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Schwartz is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Oshima has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Schwartz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Schwartz wants to control but Oshima is keeping busy.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Schwartz pushes Oshima up against the cage in a clinch. Schwartz tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Oshima smiles and moves away.
Oshima moves into range and clinches up with Schwartz. Oshima keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Schwartz's efforts to push away. Oshima has Schwartz pressed against the cage, preventing Schwartz from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Schwartz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Oshima misses the body punch and Schwartz counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Oshima thinking. Oshima tries to clinch up but Schwartz circles away and keeps his distance. Takashi Oshima has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rob Schwartz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Schwartz closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Takashi Oshima. Well Schwartz has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
