Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Butch Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Butch Baker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Baker shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wilson's guard.
Baker passes Wilson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Baker is pressing down on Wilson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wilson is holding on for now.
Wilson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Wilson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Wilson wants to get back to his feet.

Baker seems to be working for a kimura but Wilson defends the submission attempt.
Wilson tries to get to full guard but Baker has control of the leg.
Baker tries to stand but can't do so whilst Wilson controls his leg.
Wilson is trying to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Wilson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Baker misses with a takedown attempt

and Wilson counters with a shoot takedown. Baker fights it but they end up in guard.

Wilson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Baker is breathing heavily.
Baker is trying to control the position but Wilson postures up.
Wilson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Baker is proving hard to escape from.
Baker keeping moving, preventing Wilson from controlling successfully.
Baker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Wilson is pushing down on Baker's leg trying to pass to half guard. Baker is fighting to maintain full guard but Wilson has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Baker has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wilson is working away from the top position though.
Baker is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wilson passes to side control.

Wilson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Baker looks for a takedown but Wilson sprawls well.
Wilson tries to clinch up but Baker circles away and keeps his distance.
Wilson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Baker but Baker pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Baker lands a front kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Baker works over Wilson's head and body with a nice combination.
Nice uppercut there from Baker.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Baker.
Baker controls the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wilson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Wilson is looking to escape.

Baker stands up from half guard.
Baker closes the distance but Wilson moves to the side

and Wilson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Wilson wants to stand up but Baker has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Baker tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Wilson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Baker.

Wilson seems to be looking for submissions.
Baker makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Baker.
Baker lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wilson!
Baker manages to capitalize on a mistake by Wilson to take his back!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Baker scores with punches to the body.
Baker throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Wilson!

Baker is working for a rear naked choke. Wilson is not defending it well and Baker has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Wilson refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Wilson's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Butch Baker!
