Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Markus Spermon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wesley Buuren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wesley Buuren told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spermon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Buuren wants to control but Spermon postures up.
Spermon wants to control but Buuren is keeping him busy.
Spermon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Buuren to his feet.
Buuren shoots and misses
and Spermon counters with a single leg into guard. Buuren didn't expect that.
Buuren wants to stand up but Spermon is controlling him.
Buuren is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Buuren is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Buuren tries to work over Spermon's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Buuren goes for a takedown in the clinch but Spermon prevents it.
Buuren is working for takedown but Spermon is calmly controlling the position for now.
Markus Spermon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wesley Buuren.
Buuren has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Spermon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Spermon keeps control of Buuren as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
A frustrated look appears on Buuren's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Buuren has had enough of the clinch but Spermon keeps him there for the moment.
Spermon throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

and Buuren decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Spermon's guard.
Spermon can't keep his opponent in guard - Buuren advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Buuren thows a huge punch but Spermon dodges it nicely.
Spermon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Spermon tries to get out of the position.
Spermon wants to get back to full guard.
Spermon is looking to control Buuren's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Spermon avoid being mounted?

BOOM! Buuren connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Buuren throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Spermon because Buuren loaded up on that one.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Buuren tries to control but Spermon wriggling away.
Buuren pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Buuren is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Spermon can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Buuren can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Spermon is looking to escape.
Buuren has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Spermon's face.

Buuren unloads with some shots from mount but Spermon bucks and avoids them well.
Buuren misses with a head shot.
Buuren trying to control but Spermon is having none of it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Wesley Buuren showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Buuren is looking to work some ground and pound but Spermon has wrist control.
Buuren pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Spermon is keeping the position for now.

Buuren stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spermon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Spermon is trying to keep Buuren in close.
Buuren not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

I think Buuren has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
