The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rajala throws a series of punches but Makunouchi avoids them all with ease.
Rajala fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Makunouchi manages to avoid it.
Rajala tries to clinch there but Makunouchi circles away.
Makunouchi feints and as Rajala raises his hands in defense, Makunouchi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rajala manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Makunouchi trying desperately to get to his feet.
Makunouchi regains half guard.
Rajala tries to stand but can't do so whilst Makunouchi controls his leg.
Makunouchi is trying to maintain the position but Rajala is very close to passing his half guard.

Makunouchi moves into full guard.
Makunouchi is wriggling around but Rajala manages to pass to half guard.
Rajala tries to stand and escape but Makunouchi is controlling the position.
Rajala with the ground and pound but Makunouchi uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Makunouchi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rajala manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rajala wants to get back to his feet but Makunouchi is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Makunouchi is breathing heavily.
Rajala has his feet on Makunouchi's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Rajala is looking to clinch.
Rajala tries to clinch but Makunouchi is having none of it.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Makunouchi.
Rajala is looking to regain half guard here but Makunouchi keeps moving and retains side control.

It looks like Joel Rajala has been cut.
Makunouchi tries to stand but Rajala is controlling his head.
Rajala is still in real trouble! Can Makunouchi finish him?
Rajala tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Makunouchi is chipping away with strikes.
That has opened up Joel Rajala's cut even more.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rajala wants to get back to his feet but Makunouchi is dominant here and he's now got Rajala's back!

Makunouchi takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Rajala plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Makunouchi connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Rajala tumbling to the canvas! Makunouchi pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Rajala was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Ippo Makunouchi!
