Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Lambros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barack Obina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Obina has chosen Cio da Terra - Pena Branca & Xavantinho e Renato Teixeira as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Scott Lambros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Barack Obina!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Obina stuns Lambros with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
A slow jab from Obina misses its intended target.
Lambros misses with a series of wild punches.
A punch combination from Lambros misses.
Lambros throws a predictable looking body shot

and Obina counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lambros's guard now.
Lambros is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Lambros working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Obina doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Obina manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lambros misses with an uppercut. Obina saw that one coming.
Lambros swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lambros lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Obina circles away quickly and effectively.
Lambros looks to score with a jab to the body but Obina is just out of range.
Lambros gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Obina makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Lambros is breathing heavily.

and Obina counters with a stiff right hand.
Scott Lambros seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lambros shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Obina tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Obina tries to hold on but Lambros postures up.
Obina is working to get back to half guard.
Lambros fails to take his opponent's back.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Obina can do anything to dispel that myth.
Obina is wriggling around trying to escape.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lambros tries to control but Obina wriggling away.
Lambros controlling the position easily from mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Obina tries to reverse the position but Lambros maintains control.
Obina wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Lambros wants to take Obina's back but he can't do it this time.

That's time! Lambros's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Lambros tries to close the distance and clinch up but Obina swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Obina cracks a nice hook into Lambros's ribs.

Obina shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lambros manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Obina controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Lambros working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Obina doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Obina manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Lambros not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Lambros has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Obina is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Lambros.

Lambros can't do much from the bottom here.
Lambros trying to control but Obina flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Lambros is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Obina.
Obina is not going to allow Lambros to sit and survive in this position.

Lambros rolls, trying to escape but Obina keeps control of the position.

Barack Obina showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Lambros throws a combination that misses
and Obina counters with a nice body shot.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Obina showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lambros.
Lambros falls off balance throwing a combination
and Obina counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Lambros is looking to wear down Obina with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Lambros has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Obina drops Lambros with a beautiful combination! Lambros stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Obina is looking for the KO!
Oh Lambros is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Obina circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Lambros to the canvas! Lambros doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Obina keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Barack Obina!
