The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DaRoss shoots in for a double leg but Mussum sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. DaRoss takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
DaRoss checks a low kick from Mussum. Mussum throws a front kick aimed at DaRoss's knee but DaRoss avoids it well. DaRoss darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. DaRoss is looking for a kimura here.

Mussum attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Mussum stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mussum wants it to stay on the feet. Alistair Mussum has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Van DaRoss. No luck with that takedown attempt from DaRoss. Alistair Mussum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mussum shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Mussum pushing out the jab but it's not landing. DaRoss closes the distance and clinches up with Mussum, looking for a takedown. DaRoss pushes Mussum against the cage but Mussum circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Horrible takedown by DaRoss or perhaps it was just good defense by Mussum which made him look bad. No luck for DaRoss with that takedown attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! DaRoss takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

DaRoss feints and as Mussum raises his hands in defense, DaRoss changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. DaRoss drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mussum dives on top into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. DaRoss pulls Mussum in close to his closed guard and prevents Mussum from doing any damage or advancing position. DaRoss looking for a sweep. Not yet DaRoss, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. DaRoss is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. DaRoss bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mussum's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. DaRoss prevents Mussum from getting back to his feet. DaRoss pushes down on Mussum's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. DaRoss is trying to work for a kimura but Mussum is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mussum tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. DaRoss goes for an armbar but Mussum turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Mussum. Mussum won't allow DaRoss to sweep him here. DaRoss bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mussum's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. DaRoss drops back looking for a leg! Mussum is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mussum manages to kick DaRoss off! DaRoss jumps back into Mussum's guard. DaRoss drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mussum looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mussum looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mussum! DaRoss is looking to regain half guard here but Mussum keeps moving and retains side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. DaRoss gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Van DaRoss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Mussum tried to score with a low kick but DaRoss checks it. Mussum wants to land a leg kick but DaRoss is out of range. DaRoss tries for a takedown but Mussum sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. DaRoss blocks a jab. Mussum throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mussum misses with a body kick. DaRoss fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Mussum connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

DaRoss checks the leg kick. Mussum throws a low kick, looking for DaRoss's leg but DaRoss calmly moves out of range. DaRoss shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Mussum throws a leg kick but DaRoss checks it. No luck for DaRoss with that takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mussum slaps away a takedown attempt from DaRoss, before circling back to the center of the mat. DaRoss moves out of range as Mussum throws a body kick.
DaRoss shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. DaRoss is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. DaRoss is pressing down on Mussum's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mussum is holding on for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mussum is trying to stand up here but DaRoss is controlling him well. Mussum is defending against the submission attempts here by DaRoss.
