Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juan Gabriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vasya Galushky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Juan Gabriel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vasya Galushky! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gabriel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gabriel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gabriel misses with a double jab.
Galushky blocks a head kick by Gabriel.
Gabriel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Galushky ducks under a wild hook from Gabriel. Juan Gabriel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Galushky ducks under a wild hook from Gabriel. Galushky blocks a head kick by Gabriel.
Gabriel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Galushky moves away. Galushky fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gabriel sprawls well initially but Galushky persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Galushky with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Let's hope that Galushky has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Galushky's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Gabriel is not content to let Galushky control the position. Gabriel wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Galushky content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Gabriel makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Gabriel gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Galushky has gone for a leg lock! Gabriel slips out almost immediately though and dives into Galushky's guard. Gabriel has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Galushky is proving hard to escape from.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gabriel decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Galushky checks a low kick from Gabriel.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gabriel misses with a body kick. Galushky fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Galushky takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Galushky looks gassed! Gabriel lands with a nice body kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gabriel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

It looks like Vasya Galushky has been cut. Gabriel lands a left and a right that send Galushky crashing to the mat, dazed. Gabriel thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Galushky is rocked! Gabriel dives in and grabs Galushky's left leg, looking for a takedown. Galushky pushes down on Gabriel's head and hops out. Galushky is still on wobbly legs! Can Gabriel finish him? Gabriel misses with a jab, cross combination.
Galushky seems to have recovered his senses. Gabriel misses with a takedown and Galushky counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Galushky tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Galushky has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Galushky wants to control but Gabriel is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gabriel wants to get back to his feet. Galushky is looking to take a break and control but Gabriel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Galushky thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Juan Gabriel dominated that round. The cut man is working on Vasya Galushky's cut. That's time! Gabriel's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Gabriel scoring well with a low kick there.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Galushky is defended easily by Gabriel. Both fighters circling a little - Gabriel finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. A left and a right from Gabriel both land. Nice combination.
That has opened up Vasya Galushky's cut even more. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gabriel lands a big right hand that sends Galushky crashing to the mat! Gabriel stays standing though and waves Galushky back to his feet! Galushky on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Gabriel. Gabriel obviously looking to wear him down.
Gabriel is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Galushky hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Juan Gabriel!
