Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fedor Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bonham Carter!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Carter looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Emelianenko can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Carter is looking to escape.
Carter is working to get back to half guard.

Emelianenko stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Carter gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Carter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Emelianenko stands up and waves to Carter to follow him.

Emelianenko moves into range and clinches up with Carter.
Carter tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Emelianenko has control of Carter's left arm, preventing Carter from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Emelianenko has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Emelianenko is looking to stand up but Carter isn't so interested in that idea.

Emelianenko wriggles free and stands up.
Carter tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Bonham Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Emelianenko lands with a good body shot.
Emelianenko lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Carter slips a jab and a cross from Emelianenko.
Emelianenko scores with a sloppy right hand. Carter should have avoided that one.
Emelianenko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carter moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Carter doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Emelianenko breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Carter avoids a punch combination nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Emelianenko's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Emelianenko darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Well, if Emelianenko is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Emelianenko seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Carter is breathing heavily.

Emelianenko is looking to take a break and control but Carter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Emelianenko perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Carter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Emelianenko is working away from the top position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Emelianenko is looking for a kimura here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Emelianenko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carter circles away quickly and effectively.
A punch combination from Emelianenko misses.

Emelianenko rushes Carter and presses him up against the cage.

Emelianenko pulls guard successfully.

Emelianenko uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Emelianenko looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Emelianenko controlling the pace.
Emelianenko's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Emelianenko seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Carter for as long as he can get away with.

Carter wants to control from the top but Emelianenko keeps moving.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Emelianenko is on top in guard.

Emelianenko gets to his feet - Carter follows without any prompting.
Carter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Emelianenko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carter moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Emelianenko looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Emelianenko drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Carter tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Emelianenko presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Emelianenko is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Emelianenko closes the distance and clinches.

Carter prevents Emelianenko from getting back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Emelianenko gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Carter throwing strikes from guard but Emelianenko blocks nicely.

Emelianenko has his feet on Carter's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Bonham Carter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Fedor Emelianenko is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Carter tries to clinch up

and Emelianenko counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carter won't be happy with that.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fedor Emelianenko showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Emelianenko has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
