Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Buster Hymen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Darren Burns!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns tries to clinch but Hymen is having none of it.
Hymen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Burns leaves Hymen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hymen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Burns's guard.
Hymen lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Hymen landing some decent shots from guard.
Hymen chips away with some ground and pound.
Burns throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Burns working for a triangle but Hymen defends it easily.
Burns is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hymen is aware though and is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hymen scoring with punches to the head and body.
Burns had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hymen defends it easily.
Burns thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Burns working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Hymen has passed into half guard!
Hymen passes to side control.
Hymen has hold of Burns's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Burns seems comfortable defending it but Hymen has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Burns is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Burns is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hymen couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Buster Hymen!
