Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hannibal Lecter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hannibal Lecter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacob Williams! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lecter shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Williams as he avoids it easily. Williams blocks a head kick by Lecter.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Lecter!
Lecter shoots in for a takedown but Williams shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Williams looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Williams looking to pass the guard. Williams working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Williams is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Williams throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Williams postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Lecter gets caught flat footed, as Williams shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Williams blocks a jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lecter to score with a decent uppercut. Williams fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Lecter tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Williams paws at him with a jab and circles away. Williams looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Lecter! A nice elbow there by Williams. Williams landing strikes from the mount. Lecter tries to hold on but Williams postures up. Williams prevents Lecter from getting the reversal. Williams landing strikes from the mount. Williams working the ground and pound effectively.

Lecter defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Williams. Lecter bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Williams has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lecter won't allow Williams to get back to his feet. Lecter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Williams on the ground. Williams wriggles free and stands up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lecter stalks Williams and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Williams's face. Williams staggers backwards, shaken. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jacob Williams dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Lecter misses with a takedown and Williams counters with a single leg into guard. Lecter didn't expect that. Williams postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Williams throws and elbow that misses. Lecter uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Williams's guard. Nice move by Lecter! Williams wants to stand up but Lecter is controlling him. Williams is looking to stand back up but Lecter counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Williams. Williams manages to escape and get back to his feet! The fight stays on the outside here - Lecter looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Lecter gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Williams counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Williams missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Jacob Williams has got the better of the ground game so far. Williams cracks Lecter with a solid left hand. Lecter has momentary wrist control but Williams slips an elbow through the middle. Williams trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Williams trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Williams throws and elbow that misses. Lecter uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Williams's guard. Nice move by Lecter! Lecter would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Williams pushes Lecter off and scrambles back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Williams lands in his opponent's guard. Williams is looking to work some ground and pound but Lecter has wrist control. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Williams's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Williams trying to move into half guard but instead Lecter has managed to sweep! Lecter won't allow Williams to get back to his feet. Williams is breathing heavily. Lecter trying to control the position from guard on top but Williams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lecter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williams swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lecter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Williams feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Williams connects with a couple of short punches. Williams throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lecter is trying to keep Williams in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lecter is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Williams is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Williams thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Williams throws a strike but Lecter rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lecter trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jacob Williams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Williams wants to pass to mount but Lecter is defending the position. Williams throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Williams thows a huge punch but Lecter dodges it nicely.

Williams takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Williams looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lecter is trying to get back to full guard. Hannibal Lecter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Lecter is defending against the submission attempts here by Williams.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Williams scores with a takedown into Lecter's guard. Williams cracks Lecter with a solid left hand. Williams looking to pass the guard. Williams is looking to work some ground and pound but Lecter has wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lecter is trying to keep Williams in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Lecter manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Williams keeping moving, preventing Lecter from controlling successfully. Lecter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Williams wants to stand but Lecter is controlling the position. Lecter has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Lecter trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
