The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hate drops his hands momentarily and Abelsons takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hate.
Hate shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Abelsons as he jumps to the side.
Abelsons thuds his right hand into Hate's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Hate throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Abelsons's waist but Abelsons gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hate off to one side.

Hate closes the distance and clinches up with Abelsons, looking for a takedown. Hate pushes Abelsons against the cage but Abelsons circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hate stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Abelsons swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hate fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Abelsons avoids it really well and circles away.
