Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Genki Moto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sterling Contreras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Genki Moto has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Genki Moto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sterling Contreras! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moto throws a sloppy head kick and Contreras moves out of range easily. Contreras shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Contreras fails with the takedown. Contreras dodges the punch combination from Moto.
Moto throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Sterling Contreras has been cut. Moto tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Contreras shoots in and drives through. Moto sprawls well. Genki Moto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sterling Contreras. Moto scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Contreras misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Moto tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Contreras paws at him with a jab and circles away. Moto tries a head kick but it misses.
Moto throws a head kick that misses. Moto misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's one minute gone in the round. Contreras fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Moto avoids it really well and circles away. Moto gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Contreras to score an easy takedown into full guard. Contreras trying to control but Moto is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Contreras looks gassed! Contreras working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Contreras stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Moto swivels though and keeps the full guard. Contreras is fighting to break Moto's control of his arms but Moto is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Contreras prevents Moto from getting back to his feet. Moto keeping moving, preventing Contreras from controlling successfully. Contreras pushing down on Moto's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Moto wants to improve his position but Contreras is controlling well.
Contreras is trying to work for a kimura but Moto is defending well.
Moto is looking to control Contreras's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Moto avoid being mounted?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Contreras looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Moto wants to get back to his feet.
Contreras not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Moto is looking for a sweep. Contreras is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Contreras is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Contreras circles away from the clinch attempt.
Contreras throws a sloppy head kick and Moto counters with a left and a right that stings Contreras. Moto goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Contreras is rocked! Moto moves into the clinch. Contreras has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Moto uses from the top position. Moto trying to stand up but can't free himself from Contreras's guard. Contreras trying to control the position.

Genki Moto dominated that round. The cut man is working on Sterling Contreras's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Contreras takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
A slapping body kick lands there for Moto. Contreras throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Moto's waist but Moto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Contreras off to one side. Moto buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Contreras tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Moto swivels and escapes. Moto throws a head kick that Contreras semi-blocks.
Moto connects with a solid leg kick. Contreras gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Genki Moto is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Moto fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Moto lands with a slapping head kick. Contreras tries to clinch but fails miserably and Moto counters with a one-two to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horrible takedown by Contreras or perhaps it was just good defense by Moto which made him look bad. Genki Moto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sterling Contreras. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Contreras takes a kick to the side of the head. Contreras throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Moto's waist but Moto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Contreras off to one side. Moto fakes the leg kick and cracks Contreras in the body. Contreras shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Moto as he jumps to the side. Contreras tries to clinch but Moto moves out of range. Moto throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Contreras's head. Contreras scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Contreras tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Moto knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Contreras on the ground. Contreras looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Contreras throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Moto tries to bench press Contreras off him but Contreras keeps the position. Moto dodges the ground and pound from Contreras. Contreras is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Moto has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Contreras tries for a kimura but Moto is defending well. Contreras is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Moto knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Moto lands with a slapping head kick. Moto looks to land a combination. Contreras sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Contreras closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Contreras wants to work for an arm triangle but Moto is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

That's one minute gone in the round. Moto is looking to escape. Contreras has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Moto defend it? Contreras steps over the head and cranks it - Moto is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Contreras!
