Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chuck Perry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Rice! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rice scores a takedown into full mount! Perry is looking to improve his position but Rice isn't that keen on the idea. Rice wants to control the pace but Perry is squirming around nicely. Rice goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Perry turns into him and now he's in Rice's guard.
Perry stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rice swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rice has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Perry can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Perry drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Perry jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rice is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Perry defends well. Rice is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Perry thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Perry is fighting to maintain full guard but Rice has managed to sneak the leg through. Rice is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Perry escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rice gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Perry keeping moving, preventing Rice from controlling successfully. Perry looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rice is one step ahead there. Rice wants to control from the top but Perry keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Rice tries to free his leg and advance position but Perry is retaining full guard. Rice not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Perry keeping moving, preventing Rice from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rice is trying hard to land a takedown here. Perry sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Perry defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rice. Perry feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Rice lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Perry! Perry is looking to improve his position but Rice isn't that keen on the idea. Rice moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? Perry not allowing Rice to control his hands. Perry patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Perry looking for the choke but no joy. Perry gets his hands free as Rice looks to control. Perry is hanging on to Rice's back as he tries to escape.

Chuck Perry dominated that second round. That's time! Perry's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Perry shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Rice counters with a shoot takedown. Perry fights it but they end up in guard. Perry wants to sweep but no luck. Chuck Perry overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rice passes into half guard. Rice wants to take a breather but Perry is having none of it. Rice is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
