Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Cunnigham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kennedy Embers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cunnigham's entrance music is Jeremy. A fine choice. Embers is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Settle For Nothing by RATM. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kennedy Embers! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cunnigham looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Embers is fending him off so far but Cunnigham persists. Nope, Embers circles away and we're back to standing. Cunnigham keeps the fight on the outside. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Embers thows a body shot but no joy. Cunnigham shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Embers defends it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cunnigham takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cunnigham shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cunnigham showed some decent athleticism there. Cunnigham is working for a submission of some sort.
Embers looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Embers controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Cunnigham prevents Embers from standing back up.
Embers won't allow Cunnigham to pass to mount. Cunnigham is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Embers is just riding it out for now. Cunnigham eventually gives up the hold. Cunnigham is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Embers is controlling Cunnigham's position as best he can from this difficult position. Cunnigham is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Embers defends it well. Cunnigham wants to pass the guard but Embers is defending well. Embers wants to improve his position but Cunnigham is controlling well.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Embers fails in his attempt to clinch. Kennedy Embers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cunnigham connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Embers's hands. Embers wants to clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cunnigham tries to score a power double leg takedown but Embers sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cunnigham somewhat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jeremy Cunnigham will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cunnigham is defended easily by Embers. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy Cunnigham. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cunnigham takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Cunnigham shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Embers as he avoids it easily. Cunnigham misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! and Cunnigham counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Embers's guard now. Cunnigham throwing strikes from guard but Embers blocks nicely. Embers preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Cunnigham is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Embers is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Embers has escaped and now he's on top! Cunnigham is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Embers is aware though and is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cunnigham looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Embers showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Cunnigham has his foot on Embers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Embers works his way back into a safe position though. Embers got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cunnigham has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Embers has managed to get both his arms back between Cunnigham's legs - danger averted. Cunnigham takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Embers connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Cunnigham momentarily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Embers ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cunnigham moves away. Cunnigham shoots in for a takedown but Embers shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Embers scores with a crisp jab that stopped Cunnigham in his tracks. Cunnigham shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Embers but Embers pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy Cunnigham. That's going to take a lot out of him.
