Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maier closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Maier looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Maier is working for a submission of some sort.
Maier is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sparrow doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Maier.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Maier tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sparrow knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Maier is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sparrow sees it coming and defends easily.
Maier takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Sparrow won't allow Maier to pass to mount.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Maier lands a nice short elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Maier is trying to work for a kimura but Sparrow is defending well.
Maier is working for a submission of some sort.
Maier is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Sparrow is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
