Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Latish Festin!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kimura moves into the clinch.

Kimura gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Festin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Festin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Kimura drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kimura jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Festin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kimura gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kimura is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Kimura postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Festin seems keen to control Kimura's posture.

Festin tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Festin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kimura. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kimura sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Festin's guard.

Kimura is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Kimura lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Kimura has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Festin is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kimura scores with a couple of nice shots.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kimura lands a nice short elbow.

Kimura is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Festin is just riding it out for now. Kimura eventually gives up the hold.
