Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Jorge! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sid Fraser! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jorge throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fraser was covering up waiting for the punch and Jorge finishes the takedown easily into guard. Jorge pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fraser is keeping the position for now. Jorge postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Jorge forces his way into half guard. Jorge is figuring out what he wants to do next. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jorge landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Jorge sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Fraser defending well though. Jorge lands strikes from half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fraser can do anything to dispel that myth. Fraser wants to control but Jorge is keeping busy and won't allow it. Jorge looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Jorge is trying to control the action in half guard but Fraser is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jorge thows a huge punch but Fraser dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jorge thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Fraser trying to hold on to Jorge's head to control him but Jorge postures up.
Jorge is keen to just control but Fraser is a slippery customer. Fraser really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jorge. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jorge with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Fraser tries to bum rush Jorge with a series of wild strikes but Jorge uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jorge ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fraser moves away. Fraser swings and misses with a shot to the body and Jorge counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Fraser pushes Jorge up against the cage in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jorge is trying to drag Fraser to the mat but Fraser just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Nice body punch from Jorge. With the fighters up against the cage, Fraser throws an elbow but misses. Jorge can't break the clinch.
Fraser keeps control of Jorge as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Fraser tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Jorge avoids it. Jorge has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fraser avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Fraser lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Fraser gets underhooks to prevent Jorge's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Jorge. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fraser gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jorge.

Jorge turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Jorge is breathing heavily. Fraser is not content to let Jorge control the position. Jorge goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Fraser rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Jorge's guard! Nice work there by Fraser!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fraser accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Fraser trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Fraser tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jorge paws at him with a jab and circles away. Jorge scores with a decent looking hook. Jorge shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fraser defends it nicely. Fraser misses with a head kick.
Sid Fraser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jorge takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Fraser is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jorge. Some wild striking there from Fraser.
Fraser will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jorge shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fraser but Fraser pushes him off and we're back to square one. Fraser gets a clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Jorge dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Jorge is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fraser sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Fraser tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jorge was well out of range. Jorge is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Fraser lands a body shot in the clinch.
Fraser is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jorge is defending well for now. Jorge tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Jorge closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fraser circles away. Fraser throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Jorge.

Fraser manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Fraser fails with an attempt to clinch.
James Jorge is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fraser gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jorge is fighting to break Fraser's control of his arms but Fraser is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Jorge trying to control the position from guard on top but Fraser is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jorge passes Fraser's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Fraser is not content to let Jorge control the position. Jorge wants to pass the guard but Fraser is defending well.

Jorge shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fraser pinned against the cage. Fraser gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jorge throws a left and a right that both miss
and Fraser counters with a lovely straight right hand! Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Fraser throws a series of strikes that have Jorge backpedaling.
Fraser fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jorge, pushing him back against the cage. Jorge can't get the takedown.

Sid Fraser showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on James Jorge's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Jorge decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Jorge not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Still in half guard, Jorge seems content to control. Jorge looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fraser with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Fraser wants to control but Jorge is keeping busy and won't allow it. Fraser tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Jorge stops Fraser from getting back to his feet.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jorge lands a nice short elbow. Jorge is looking to take a break and control but Fraser is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jorge darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jorge trying to control the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fraser won't allow Jorge to pass to mount. Jorge passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Fraser! Fraser wants to control but Jorge is having none of it. Jorge looking to control but Fraser is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Jorge scoring with strikes but Fraser is staying in there.

Fraser scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Jorge looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Fraser tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jorge shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Jorge takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jorge missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Fraser is in trouble now - Jorge has advanced to mount!
And that's the end of the fight! James Jorge showed his dominance in that final round. I think Jorge has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
