PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sum Ting Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Hust (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wong comes to the cage accompanied by The Architect - DJ Davey B. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Sum Ting Wong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, George Hust!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hust pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Wong fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hust avoids it really well and circles away.
Hust dips to his left and cracks Wong with an uppercut!

Hust cracks Wong with a big right hand and Wong goes down!


Wong is rocked!
Hust lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Oh Wong is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hust stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wong swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hust prevents Wong from getting back to his feet.
Wong seems to have got his legs back now.

Wong pushes Hust off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Hust cracks a nice hook into Wong's ribs.
Wong is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wong takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
A combination from Hust does no damage.
Hust misses with a takedown

and Wong counters with a single leg into guard. Hust didn't expect that.

Hust uses the cage to get back to his feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hust. Wong does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hust misses with a low kick.
Hust misses with a double jab.
Hust throws a half hearted mid kick.
Hust bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Hust throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wong sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Hust drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Wong escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hust gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Wong is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Wong can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hust controls the pace.
Hust passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Wong is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hust has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Hust controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hust tries to move to mount but Wong blocks the move with his legs.
Wong is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hust off and has taken his back!
Wong doesn't have the hooks in and Hust manages to turn into his guard.
Wong wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wong is on top in guard.
Wong would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Wong postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hust is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wong, into his guard.

Wong escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hust gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wong is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Hust dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Hust shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Hust trying to control but Wong is having none of it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hust might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Wong kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Wong is in all sorts of trouble here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Despite being in the dominant position, George Hust just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hust displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wong throws out the jab.

Hust fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hust takes a swing at Wong's ribcage but misses.
Wong shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hust counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Hust scores with a one two! Wong had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Hust pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Wong throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

George Hust seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wong lands a two punch combo.
Hust misses with a low kick as Wong jumps back.
Hust fails in his attempt to clinch.

Hust fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wong manages to avoid it.
Wong keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hust.
Hust lands a really nice looking cross but Wong seems unphased.

Wong looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hust is fending him off so far but Wong persists. Nope, Hust circles away and we're back to standing.
Hust lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Hust lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Hust fails with the takedown
and Wong counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Hust is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Sum Ting Wong is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hust throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
No joy there for Hust, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Hust showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Wong's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

George Hust is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Wong takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Hust closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Wong is pushing Hust's head away, looking to escape. Hust manages to hold on to the position though.
Hust is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Wong's shoulder. That is not cool.
Wong is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hust is controlling him well.

Wong gets back to half guard.
Hust is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Wong!

George Hust comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hust has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
