Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tix Pain!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saga leaves Pain with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Saga throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pain stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Saga bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Saga lands a few punches from side control.
Check out the look on Saga's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Saga throws an elbow but Pain slips to the side and avoids it well.
Saga tries to score with some ground and pound. Pain controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Saga can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pain is looking to escape.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Saga is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Saga goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Pain is on top in guard.
Saga bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pain's guard.
Saga wants to pass the guard but Pain is keeping the position.
Saga throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pain works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Yuu Saga overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Pain is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Saga has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pain takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The referee warns Pain that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Tix Pain has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Yuu Saga showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Saga has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
