Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luiz Jose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jose gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
gomez closes the distance and clinches.
Jose is fighting off a takedown attempt but gomez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jose to the mat. Jose regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
gomez advances position into side control!
Jose manages to get back to half guard.
gomez is looking for a kimura but Jose is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for gomez to get the leverage.
Jose tries to roll over but gomez keeps him under control.
Jose is staying active underneath gomez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

gomez stands up and beckons Jose to his feet.
gomez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

gomez has hold of Jose's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Jose tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - gomez cranks the arm and Jose screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Jose, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
