Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edmond Honda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaisafa Masoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Honda comes to the ring accompanied by Edmond Honda's Theme. Masoe has chosen Bang On by Boo Yaa Tribe as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Masoe throws a leg kick that misses. Masoe fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Honda is out of range. Masoe keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Honda has a takedown stuffed. Honda blocks a low kick nicely. Honda drives through and clinches with Masoe against the ropes.
Honda drops down looking for an ankle pick but Masoe pulls his leg out and moves away.
Honda thows a body shot but no joy. Honda blocks a low kick nicely. Honda moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Horrible takedown by Honda or perhaps it was just good defense by Masoe which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edmond Honda. That's going to take a lot out of him. Honda takes a swing at Masoe's ribcage but misses. A shot to the body from Masoe misses and Honda counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Honda cracks Masoe with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Masoe is looking to score with low kicks.

Masoe walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Honda scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. A bone on bone clash there as Honda blocks the leg kick.
Gaisafa Masoe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Masoe uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Honda. Honda shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Masoe as he avoids it easily. Honda with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Honda wants to clinch up but Masoe keeps it at a distance. Masoe slips a jab and a cross from Honda.
Masoe throws a leg kick but Honda sees it coming and moves out of range. An inside leg kick from Masoe misses. Honda fails with an attempt to clinch.
Honda delivers a nice body kick. Masoe throws a lazy right hand but Honda sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Honda. Honda throws a right and a left that Masoe avoids nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Masoe ducks right into an uppercut from Honda. Honda tries a head kick but it misses.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Honda is defended easily by Masoe. Honda scores with a body shot.
Honda drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Masoe is trying to control Honda's posture but Honda avoids it. Masoe is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Honda has just dragged him back down to the mat. Honda misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Masoe tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Honda wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Honda tries to score with some ground and pound. Masoe controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Honda working the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Honda is trying to get an arm triangle but Masoe is defending well. Honda in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Masoe parries the strikes from Honda easily there. Honda is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Masoe to escape.
Honda misses with the ground and pound. Honda working the strikes but Masoe uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Masoe controlling the position well. Honda seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Masoe does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Masoe trying to hold on to Honda's head to control him but Honda postures up.
Honda is working for a kimura but Masoe is defending it quite comfortably.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Honda shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Masoe as he jumps to the side. Honda misses with a straight right. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Honda. Masoe shrugs it off though. Honda misses the body punch enabling Masoe to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Edmond Honda has been cut. Honda throws a hook to the side of Masoe's head but Masoe sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A low kick from Masoe misses and Honda counters with a lovely straight right hand! Masoe goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Masoe thuds his right hand into Honda's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Honda checks the leg kick. Masoe with a jab. Masoe lands with a nice body punch. Honda is breathing heavily. Good leg kick by Honda there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Edmond Honda will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Edmond Honda's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Masoe throws the left hand but Honda avoids the punch easily. Masoe cracks Honda with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. Masoe throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Honda makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Masoe really felt that one! Honda tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Honda is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Masoe throws a low kick, looking for Honda's leg but Honda calmly moves out of range. Honda connects with a body shot. Honda moves out of range of the leg kick from Masoe. Honda thows a body kick. Masoe tries to catch it but that hurt him. Honda lands a jab to Masoe's midsection. Masoe will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Edmond Honda is winning the standup battle so far. Honda looks to clinch and Masoe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Edmond Honda's cut is getting worse. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Honda wants to clinch and Masoe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Honda wants to clinch but Masoe slips to the side and Masoe makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Masoe slaps away a takedown attempt from Honda, before circling back to the center of the mat. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Masoe swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Masoe thuds his right hand into Honda's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Honda fails with a takedown attempt. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Honda crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Masoe - the referee stops the clock and Honda gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Masoe. Honda manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Honda is looking to wear down Masoe with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Honda takes one to the side of the head.
Honda wants to clinch. A nice leg kick lands there from Masoe. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Masoe lands with a cross.
Edmond Honda's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Honda takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Masoe swings and misses with a shot to the body and Honda counters with a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Masoe thumps Honda with a low kick. Masoe throws a leg kick but Honda checks it. Masoe scores with a crisp jab that stopped Honda in his tracks. Masoe throws a low kick but it's checked well by Honda. Masoe lands a nice leg kick that just misses Honda's sensitive parts. Masoe bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Honda's head.
Jeez, Edmond Honda's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Masoe cracks Honda with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Masoe has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Honda to stand back up!
Honda is rocked!
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Edmond Honda's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Gaisafa Masoe! Gaisafa Masoe is the new super heavyweight champion!
